Hair Tip #21: Scalp Massaging

Studies have shown that the top of your head is the area that receives the least amount of circulation.A loss of adequate blood flow results in a lack of proper nutrients to strengthen and grow your hair follicles. By massaging your scalp, you increase blood flow and stimulate your scalp.

Here is an easy and relaxing way to massage your scalp:
  1. Brush your hair out
  2. Dip your fingers in olive oil
  3. Gently massage your entire scalp for 15 minutes
  4. Wrap your hair in a warm towel (wring out the water) for 10 minutes
  5. Rinse oil out with warm water
  6. Proceed to wash and deep condition your hair

I did part of this method before washing my hair last week. I did steps 1-3.
  • I found it to be relaxing (I almost fell asleep).
  • You can feel how invigorating this is after you are done massaging! It is as if  I could feel the increase in blood circulation.
  • In addition, I had no flakes or dry scalp after washing, and deep conditioning
